Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage a team of clickstream data collection specialists and a cloud data engineer.

  • Implement robust governance frameworks to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of clickstream data while optimising cloud infrastructure.

  • Take responsibility of the data collection technology stack and cloud infrastructure, ensuring they are future-proof and aligned with business needs.

  • Drive adoption of dbt as a service, providing training, support, and documentation across the organisation, developing, and maintaining data models with scalability and efficiency.

  • Develop and deploy a semantic layer to bridge between dbt models and natural language querying tools, facilitating intuitive data access and analysis for business users while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Improve time-to-insight through extensive use of dbt and Redshift data structure optimization.

  • Share knowledge and expertise in data collection, transformation practices, and cloud engineering to raise awareness of tracking and dbt.

  • Support proof of concept generative AI initiatives to understand the value and opportunities for operational efficiencies and business growth.

  • Stay updated on the latest developments in data collection, transformation, cloud, and AI technologies, bringing innovative approaches to data engineering practices within the team

 

What will you need?

 

  • Experience with data collection technologies such as Tealium IQ, Adobe Launch, GTM, and Snowplow.

  • Proficiency in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, Regex, JSON, data layer specifications, and code validation.

  • Extensive experience with data build tools such as dbt, and advanced data modelling skills.

  • Experience in implementing governance frameworks.

  • Excellent proficiency in SQL, Python, or any other programming language (advantageous).

  • Experience in introducing technical efficiencies as code optimisation and process improvements, such as ways of working.

  • In-depth knowledge of data collection, transformation practices, and cloud engineering.

  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering large analytical projects while effectively managing stakeholders.
