The role

We are looking for an experienced professional who has the skills and experience in the areas of Regulatory Compliance and Information Technology.

As a Regulatory Compliance Officer, you'll be building close relationships with key internal stakeholders and lead strategic partnerships with external third parties ranging from public authorities to commercial partners. The role itself is designed to grow as you develop and accumulate experience. It is an exciting but challenging role that requires resilience, commitment, and good understanding of technology, systems and their relationship with the law.

You are going to be involved in the effective planning, delivery and improvement of Kindred Group's Governance, Risk and Compliance activities and projects, which lie at the core of everything we accomplish as a customer-focused business.

 

Your focus areas will be 

  • To research, implement and drive the current and future technologies which support compliance within the organization.
  • Be one of the main points of contact for the .com market and work closely with the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).
  • Keep abreast with the latest compliance requirements and advice relevant stakeholders on compliance matters.

 

What you will do

  • Work closely with the Regulatory Compliance Manager, on compliance requirements emanating from regulated jurisdictions, as to be supported by the Group Compliance Framework;
  • Work on the strategy and scope of the Group Compliance Framework across the organization, based on ISO International Standards;
  • Through the Group Compliance Framework ensure the planning and management of compliance obligations, risks, controls, issues & incidents, and compliance monitoring and reporting;
  • Keep enhancing the Group Compliance Framework through the implementation of compliance performance measures, escalation and continual improvement;
  • Review and develop current and future state process maps related to Regulatory Compliance;
  • Support the Regulatory Compliance Manager and the Human Resources departments with the training programs on compliance and process mapping;
  • Keep track of all the compliance requirements emanating from the Malta Gaming Authority on .COM and communicate these to all relevant stakeholders;
  • Coordinate all Regulatory Audits in the Malta office;
  • Be one of the main points of contact between the Kindred Group and the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA);
  • Manage the Player Complaints Process also known as the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) for .com;
  • Research and recommend new IT solutions to be used in the LeCoR department;
  • Work closely with other Regulatory Officers in compliance and audit matters;
  • Keep striving to improve the LeCoR Department through the research, recommendation and implementation of new solutions;
  • Monitor and review existing LeCoR policies and procedures but also constantly identifying gaps and new potential improvement areas whilst devising remedial actions, and maintaining a continuous identification and classification of potential risks;
  • Coordinate and complete reporting obligations to public and private bodies by liaising with internal stakeholders to disseminate and obtain legal and commercial information whether routinely, as part of an audit, or on an ad-hoc basis;
  • Provide holistic, expert help to the team to create and maintain streamlined processes based on rigorous quality standards and business realities/capabilities;
  • Exercise sound judgement on sensitive and time-dependent matters by keeping abreast of legislative and commercial developments at regional and global level;

Your experience

  • Comfortable working autonomously but equally happy asking for support or working collaboratively
  • Degree educated
  • Knowledge of how online technology companies function, with strong emphasis on the ability to learn on the go and work under pressure without supervision
  • Poses a multi-brand mindset and have demonstrable understanding of how EU legislation works and applies at national level within an international business context
  • High levels of emotional intelligence with an ability to absorb complex information quickly and convey it to others in a way that is tailored to the specific audience
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills based on successful experiences of engaging stakeholders from a wide range of teams, nationalities and seniority
  • Excellent drafting and written advocacy skills, with native level proficiency in English, and at least one additional European Union language 
  • Ability to perform well in high-pressure working environments with a dynamic and demanding workload
  • Good organizational skills coupled with a strong, structured, methodical, and diligent work ethic
  • Friendly team-player with positive mindset and good ‘conflict resolution' skills
  • Tech-savvy with good technological literacy and always eager to experiment with the latest technologies
