Sr Compliance Analyst, US

With offices in New York, New Jersey, Nevada and Virginia, Kindred is expanding towards its goal to be a market leader. Kindred currently holds licenses in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Virginia, Iowa, and Arizona and is keen to expand its footprint in North America. With an aggressive road map of expansion, Kindred is looking for a Compliance Analyst to join our growing team. The role reports to the Manager Compliance US.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Establish a professional, constructive, and transparent relation with the various gaming regulators, government agencies for assigned markets
  • Interpret regulatory requirements in assigned markets that are in the process of or have enacted Sports Wagering and iGaming legislation and advise the Unibet line organization in a clear, comprehensible, and accurate manner.
  • Create and manage internal controls and audit compliance against such controls within the business
  • Ensure that promotional campaigns, affiliate agreements, and product releases are compliant with applicable gambling regulations
  • Work closely with internal business stakeholders, providing all-round support on all compliance matters, thereby positioning Unibet as a trustworthy partner who puts compliance first throughout its operations.
  • Proactively identify, action, and mitigate any compliance risks for the business
  • Build and promote positive relationships with external partners, suppliers, and stakeholders
  • Review on-site content, such as House Rules, Terms, and Conditions, Privacy Policy
  • Respond to inquiries or requests for comment from regulators or other agencies
  • Respond to customer complaints from the regulator
  • Familiarize yourself with and actively use Kindred group compliance's best practices and Kindred group systems and processes in the US.
  • Actively promote and champion compliance and sustainability as a key business enabler throughout the US operations.
  • Ensure that business activities are conducted in conformity with all applicable laws, regulations, licences and internal policies and procedures
  • Report to Manager Compliance US with respect to regulatory requirements and developments
  • Prepare compliance documentation relevant to assigned markets
  • Respond to queries and investigations conducted by various official bodies as the principal point of contact
  • Independently investigate and act on matters related to compliance
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments and industry initiatives
  • Network and participate in training as appropriate to maintain own professional expertise
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as may be established from time to time

  • Adhering to set deadlines for reporting and certification purposes
  • Ensuring accuracy in reporting, development of required policies (including the quality thereof) and keeping a compliance clean sheet

  • Maintaining compliance with all relevant training and other compliance activities and nurture a compliance-first mindset across the business and in all day-to-day activities in order to support the delivery for sustainable and responsible growth

What have you done?

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 4 – 5 years' experience working in a similar compliance role, in the iGaming and Sportsbook industry or another industry heavily regulated (e.g., depository institutions, investment institutions, health care industry, banking, payments, etc.)
  • Interest and knowledge of iGaming and Sportsbook regulations is highly preferred
  • Detail and solution-oriented; high integrity and quality driven
  • Able to think outside the box, proactive “doer”, solution-oriented 
  • Capable of coordinating efforts with members of a cross-functional team
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
