Software Engineer Java

The Role

 

We are looking for developers who are passionate about sharing our culture and values. As a Software Engineer at Kindred you will be a part of one of our agile Development teams (consisting of 6-10 team members). Each Platform team's purpose is to create the best customer experience, continuously improving their products while keeping up with the latest technologies. We work in an Agile way with open communication, trust and compassion. Always striving to improve ourselves, to learn from others and we understand that knowledge is grown by sharing. 

 

We use

  • Java, Spring, Spring Boot, JMS, JSON, Oracle 
  • Git, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, Continuous delivery 
  • Best development practices, Agile and lean values  

 

What you will do

 

  • “You Design it, You Build It, You Test It, You Run It, You Tweak It” this is our ethos and you will be expected to take part of the full software life cycle to ensure reliability and up-time of the production environment 
  • Joining one of these teams, you will not only be coding, but learning, growing and developing as an Engineer by participating in design discussions with your colleagues to find great solutions to complex engineering challenges.

 

How will success be measured in this role

 

  • Take active participation and collaboration in team deliverables
  • Write high quality code with the end to end ownership
  • Regular feedback from the team, line managers (performance reviews) 
  • Acting in line with Kindred Group values
  • Successful completion of all relevant training and other compliance activities that support Kindred's sustainable and responsible growth

  • As an experienced java developer, you can drive technical solutions from design to production

  • You are curious and ask questions to understand better and ask for help when you need it


In addition as a Senior developer what you will bring to Kindred 

 

  • You contribute with your expertise and share the full team responsibilities
  • You design and build scalable software within a distributed architecture 
  • You think about what is good for the products in the long term when you make design decisions 
  • You help set the technical expectations on the whole team by both producing and setting high expectations on the team delivery 
  • You create solutions through clean and performant code 
  • You help mentor and onboard new team members  
  • You are proactive in communication towards all stakeholders cross teams
  • You are experienced at solving challenging problems in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
