About the role:

 

Kindred Group is one of the worlds leading wagering operators, encompassing 11 diverse brands across various international locations. Due to a track record of successfully delivering major work, Kindred's 150 staff and growing Australian organisation are undertaking a large greenfield project to be delivered and scaled across multiple markets in 2024 and beyond. The development team is backed by outstanding management, architecture, product, and delivery teams. In addition, several great full-stack development teams run in parallel and offer help readily. We put great effort in building a workplace of trust and collaboration, and we hope you do too. Successful applicants will join our Sydney team in Barangaroo, where benefits include:

 

  • Flexible working- We understand that everyones needs are different so we allow staff to work remotely up to 3 days per week but would love to collaborate with you in person twice a week.

We are looking for Software Engineers of all levels of experience (junior to senior) to help us build a globally scalable betting platform:

 

  • Modern greenfield project.
  • Best-in-class technologies (see skills below).
  • Distributed, event driven architecture.
  • Targeting high platform throughput and scalability.
  • Adhering to engineering principles.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Follow flow based development approach where you will be responsible for developing entire flows from services to APIs to UI.
  • Work in a cross-functional, product-focused Agile environment.
  • Work with other developers to engineer solutions for challenging problems.
  • Contribute to code reviews and engineering excellence.
  • Create highly performant UI components and APIs adhering to given specifications.

 

Essential skills:

  • Strong JavaScript fundamentals (ES6+).
  • High proficiency in React and Node development using TypeScript (recent versions).
  • Strong engineering principles (error handling, test pyramid, deployment, IaC).
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and collaboration skills.

 

Preferred skills:

  • NoSQL databases (Couchbase, Elasticsearch).
  • Event driven architecture (Kafka, MQTT).
  • Modern React libraries (React Query, Zustand).
  • Component libraries (Ant.Design).
  • Unit testing(React Testing Library, Jest) and integration testing (Cypress).
  • CI/CD pipeline experience (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins).
