Job Description:

We are strong believers in engineering teams taking operational responsibility for their products and working hard to support them in this. We work closely with engineers to advocate sensible, scalable systems and design and share responsibility with them in diagnosing, resolving, and preventing production issues. 

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Kindred you will build deploy and maintain Monitoring tools and supporting systems with automation in mind to reduce the amount of time and effort necessary for our Development Engineers to provide the best platform service for all our brands.

Responsibilities:

• Build, deploy and maintain Observability Platform and related sub systems with automation in mind.
• Help increase the overall reliability of our products and services in production.
• Create a bridge between Development and Operations by applying a software engineering mindset and SRE principles to System Administration topics.
• Collaborate closely with System and Software Owners to ensure quality in place.
• Creating/Monitoring SLO/SLA requirements for the rest of the business.
• Provide meaningful data to stakeholders to perform analyses such as capacity planning and infrastructure optimization.
• Liaising with different stakeholders of kindred platform

Skills and experience:

• Automation – Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, Helm, Ansible or similar.
• Have hands-on experience on at least one of the following topics:

Monitoring – Prometheus, Instana, Icinga, Nagios or similar

Dashboarding - Grafana, Kibana or similar

Logging - Elasticsearch, Splunk or similar

Security Products - Sysdig, Synk or any other container security productor.

• Have experience with cloud infrastructures such as OpenStack, Amazon AWS or similar.
• A good understanding of the Linux environment like Centos, Red Hat or Fedora.
• View problems as an opportunity to 
• Prefer automation over manual effort.
• Strong problem-solving 
• Understanding key business metrics and being able to represent them in user journey dashboards.
• Strong communication skills
