The Role

We are looking for a Senior test automation software engineer who is open to learning and adapting to ever-evolving techniques within our talented team of developers. We work with Mission Critical products to fine tune the experiences of millions of end users – there's nearly zero downtime, so you will need to be excellent at what you do.

We are looking for a software tester focusing on backend and automation to join us, we this role open in Stockholm (Sweden), Gibraltar.

 

Responsibilities

As a tester in our team include testing our modern and reusable components, that build up the entire customer facing sports betting experience. Our test engineers drive the automation forward by writing test cases, improving the framework, suggesting improvements to the process, the tools and the product, as well as staying on top of requirements and generally being an ambassador for great quality. We are a cross-functional team, so working closely with frontend, backend and native developers is a natural part of the work. A tester in our team participates all aspects of the work, from initial planning and setting up requirements to writing automation tests and handling issues.

Your expertise lies within Java and test automation but there will be opportunities to technically support your colleagues on other technical domains as well. You will be eager to take ownership and develop reliable test automation and plan and drive quality forward. Occasional travel may be needed as our domain is spread across multiple locations.

 

What you will do:

  • Conduct testing on modern and reusable components to enhance the customer-facing sports betting experience.
  • Drive automation efforts by writing test cases, improving frameworks, suggesting process enhancements, and advocating for product quality.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend, backend, and native developers in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Participate in all aspects of the work, including initial planning, requirement setup, automation test writing, and issue resolution.
  • Provide technical support to colleagues on various technical domains as needed.
  • Take ownership of test automation, develop reliable automation solutions, and spearhead quality initiatives.
  • Occasionally travel to multiple locations as our domain spans across different regions.

 

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Java and test automation, with a willingness to learn and adapt to evolving techniques.
  • Familiarity with Selenium, Appium, TestNG, Cucumber, and Cypress.
  • Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
  • Knowledge of JSON, Python, Restful APIs, and socket-based APIs.
  • Exposure to Kafka, Solace Queue, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging systems.
  • Understanding of databases like Oracle and Couchbase.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git, build tools like Maven, and containerization platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery practices.
  • Strong understanding of best development practices and Agile/Lean values
