Senior Internal Auditor

The role

As Senior Internal Auditor, you will work closely within the Internal Audit team to scope operational, financial and strategic reviews. You will get to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of the business, including the executive team and will have the opportunity to help drive significant commercial change at both a company and group level.  You will be given a great deal of responsibility, acting as the lead on audits but will work as part of a team on more significant projects.

About the role


To provide independent and objective assurance to add value and improve the organisations operations. Assist the organisation to achieve its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. Support the Head of Internal Audit function to deliver the Annual Audit Plan.


Work jointly with the Business in developing recommendations and plans for remediation. Be responsible for communication of audit findings to senior management.  


What you'll be doing


  • Delivery of high-quality risk based internal audits following departmental procedures for audit scoping, planning, fieldwork and reporting.
  • Ensure appropriate and clearly documented audit evidence supports your internal audit findings and make business-focused recommendations for improvement in controls, procedures, systems and business practices.
  • Able to balance risk, controls and governance with the potential cost/benefits to the business.
  • Assess and monitor managements progress in implementing agreed upon actions.
  • When required, you will conduct or assist with special projects and internal or external investigations on business processes, suspected staff frauds, and regulatory compliance matters etc.
  • Maintains regular contact with senior management stakeholders and can identify key areas of risk that may need to be factored into the audit plan.
  • Works with and where appropriate manages third party specialists from co-sourcing partners.
  • Maintaining compliance with all relevant training and other compliance activities in order to support the delivery for sustainable and responsible growth.
  • Acting with integrity, high degree of professionalism and in line with Kindred's values.


About you


  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with proven post- qualified experience gained in practice or industry.
  • A deep understanding and demonstrated knowledge and experience of Internal Audit.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Strong analytical and financial capability.
  • Good written skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of team.
  • Strong communicator, able to build relationships within the business.
  • Experience in reviewing IT General Controls
