Senior Information Security Specialist

The role

You will be part of the Information Security team working with Governance, Risk and Compliance across a broad range of security domains while supporting and collaborating with the Information Technology department in all matters relating to security. You will be responsible for proactively ensuring that Kindred meets its security objectives and aligns to US State and Federal information security regulation.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to aligned with our global Information Security Management System (ISMS)
  • Conduct risk assessments and coordinate risk mitigation activities
  • Ensure the protection of Kindred's information assets, offices, and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal information security regulation
  • Act as a liaison for information security and data privacy related issues both internally and externally to authorities & law enforcement
  • Ensure alignment of US operations with our global incident response plan 
  • Assist in the development of access control policies for software, systems & data
  • Coordinate relevant teams for the remediation of vulnerabilities
  • Contribute to the security awareness programme and promote a security culture


You will have a real personal passion for information security across a broad range of domains and desire to develop further as an information security exert.

Your challenge will be to understand the information security risks we face as an organisation and most importantly, how to manage them. 

How Will Success Be Measured In This Role

  • Regular performance reviews with your line manager
  • Acting in line with Kindred Group values
  • Compliance with all relevant trainings and other activities related to the role

Your Experience

  • Strong coordination skills.
  • You have a problem solving mindset and are solution oriented.
  • Understanding of Technical organizational structures and ways of working including development processes and Lean and agile methodologies.
  • Experience in Governance, Risk and Compliance is a plus, preferably in a Global organization.
  • Excellent social skills and the ability to build cross functional relationships.
  • Ability to drive and coordinate multiple projects using a business mind-set, always driving for value for Kindred.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Desirable

  • Relevant university degree
  • 5+ years experience in a similar sector working in a similar role
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA
