Senior DevOps Engineer

The role

As we continue to grow and expand our platforms , we are looking for someone that's comfortable with application and infrastructure automation, operational controls, scripting in various languages, as well as caring about the performance of the applications. You understand the underlying environment that your systems run on and can suggest and make changes. You can build deployment pipelines and integrate monitoring systems, and expect that deployments can happen multiple times a day without issue.

You want to support other teams to do the best work they can in the most efficient way.

You align with the goals of the DevOps movement in improving collaboration between the development and operations disciplines.


How will success be measured in this role


  • Ownership of the CI/CD pipeline ensuring a stable and performant platform /process
  • Provide Platform Engineering support across key infrastructure and application components
  • Effective communication with Operation's and Development teams
  • Continuously improving processes and documentation
  • Effective resolution of assigned tickets and tasks
  • Documentation and Knowledge sharing

You'll help build and manage infrastructure and platforms that solves engineering problems at scale. You will have a growth mindset where you are seeking to learn new and emerging technologies. You will work with a fantastic, collaborative and supportive team, in a fast-paced environment where we go from commit to production in minutes, and own a full stack from front-end to infrastructure.

These products will be used from multiple location to millions of customers worldwide. You will be joining a very dynamic team built on great culture.

Key day to day activities include:


  • Supporting other teams: build and troubleshoot deployment pipelines
  • Design and Build: infrastructure and support tooling
  • Availability: work to increase the mean-time-between-failures and decrease the mean-time-to-repair of public-facing systems
  • Monitoring: contribute to the improvement of the monitoring and measurement systems that support our operational scale and continuous delivery
  • Performance, Efficiency & Latency: contribute to the measurement techniques that assist in the performance tuning of the applications stack
  • Security & Risk: participate in the ongoing process to identify and mitigate risks
  • Support all areas of the business in day to day tasks
  • Supporting a large highly transactional public facing platform deployed globally
  • Master several technical areas while maintaining a broad understanding of the current industry landscape. Ensure technical decisions are made with the team in alignment with Kindred's engineering practice.

The core application is highly transactional and deployed in various regions around the world. Our development team will typically automatically deploy their code changes 15-20 times per day.
