The role

Are you ready to take your skills to the next level and join our dynamic team? We are seeking talented individuals like you to be part of our established data science team. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be at the forefront of cutting-edge projects that span various areas of our business.

Unlike other roles, this position is predominantly hands-on, allowing you to dive deep into the exciting world of data science. But it doesn't stop there! You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with business stakeholders, expanding your influence and taking on more responsibilities as your expertise grows.

Joining our Data Science Risk team means becoming part of a larger data and analytics group comprising around 100 brilliant minds. Within this structure, we have dedicated functions for Data Analytics, BI, and Data Engineering. Moreover, our team of DevOps, Data Engineering, and Developers are always on hand to support your data science initiatives. What you will do

  • Take ownership of projects by setting objectives with stakeholders, coming up with solutions, and working with engineers and other data scientists to productionize. Take responsibility for delivery.
  • Perform hands-on data analyses and modelling with very large data sets.
  • Analyze a wide range of data sources to identify new business value.
  • Use statistics and machine learning to develop data science products and solutions that will improve our customers experience or optimize the way our business is run.
  • Drive measurement initiatives to establish KPI's and ensure data science processes and algorithms are measured.
  • Coach Junior Data Scientist and Data Scientist.

Your experience

  • First degree in STEM subject.
  • 3-4 years commercial experience in a data science role.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and general statistical methodologies and theory.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and comfortable using Python data science libraries XGBoost, Tensorflow, Pytorch etc
  • Experience querying databases with SQL.
  • Proven experience building machine learning models used to optimize business process or customer experience.
  • Experience with models running in production

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Masters degree or PhD in STEM subject
  • Understanding of object-oriented design.
  • Experience using Apache Spark for processing large datasets.
  • Experience delivering models to production.
  • Knowledge and experience in cloud computing, ideally AWS.
  • Experience mentoring data scientists.
