The role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be designing & building new and creative data solutions, in a fast-paced agile team. Joining the Data team, you will be playing a big part in the way we shape our business by closely collaborating with different stakeholders across the business and ensure they get the most out of the data in terms of reporting, statistics and form the basis of the decision making and analytical processes. This is a hands-on role requiring strong data engineering skills.

The successful candidate will join the Product Data Engineering team with a focus on building data solutions for our world-class Products such as Gaming and Sportsbook, as well being involved in cutting-edge projects for new Product offerings. 

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain robust and efficient data solutions and products starting from the brainstorming phase to final production and product delivery. 
  • Design solutions, document them as GAPs and align them with Architects and Principal Data Engineers. 
  • Building quality data products through CI/CD and suggest ways to improve. 
  • Initiates and experiments with new ideas and approaches that support data strategy. 
  • Maintaining the test suites, identifies gaps and proactively seek to correct.
  • Support and maintain Data products, including on-call support & incident management by proactively resolving incidents, coordinating effectively with any relevant teams involved. 
  • Be a champion of best practices and see to the fact that the team is adhering to the data standards.
  • Be engaged in how to take the team to the next level.  
  • Work in an Agile way with open communication. Establish good relationships with your team and stakeholders. 
  • Supports training of new Data Engineering team members 

 

Your experience

  • Strong data engineering background in designing and implementing data applications and products.
  • Proficient in working with Oracle databases (12c and above) using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
  • Experience with engineering best practices applied to data e.g., testing, CI/CD 
  • Experience with developing dashboards and reporting solution for business end-users
  • Knowledge of any basic cloud architecture (e.g. AWS)
  • Self-motivated, proactive with excellent communication skills 
  • You embrace diversity and proactively manage data issues.
  • Good interpersonal, collaboration and presentation skills.
  • Pragmatic approach to solving problems.

 

In addition, it would be an advantage if you also have: 

  • Experience with reporting tools (e.g. Qlik, Quicksight, Power BI). 
  • Hands on experience with cloud data warehouse like AWS Redshift. 
  • Hands on experience using Kafka. 
  • Working knowledge with other programming languages like Python or core Java. 
  • Exposure to other AWS service like S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR.
