Procurement Manager (Indirect)

Role Description 

 

We are seeking an exceptional individual in the role of Procurement Manager. The ideal candidate should have a can-do attitude, excellent relationship building skills and a genuine desire to excel and exceed their goals. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to step into an exciting and varied role, test themselves in leading the growth of a greenfield function and ultimately looking to excel in their career reporting into the Procurement Director. 

 

The role will focus on building and implementing a Global Category Strategy within the indirect procurement space, across HR, Professional Services and Facilities Management. This is an opportunity to take full responsibility across multiple categories, get involved in a variety of different areas. 

 

Key accountabilities of this role are: 

  • Developing long term procurement strategies to secure cost optimisation and scalability  
  • Strategic Sourcing & Category Management - where you will undertake industry and market analysis, conduct supplier negotiations and support in the development and implementation of procurement strategy plans across HR & Facilities, Corporate and Legal Services. 
  • You will be responsible for carrying out activities around supplier engagement, including managing RFQ's/ RFPS, sourcing new business and influencing the direction of how the sourcing is achieved. 
  • Working with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities.  
  • Liaising with suppliers in ongoing contract management, ensuring that what we have negotiated in contracts is implemented and the value is realised. 

Essential skills are: 

  • 3 years + experience working in a fast-paced procurement environment and with an excellent track record within procurement in a B2C environment 
  • Demonstrable experience within the indirect procurement space, across HR, Professional Services and Facilities Management procurement 
  • Strong skills surrounding negotiation, commercial acumen and contract management 
  • Strong communication, influencing and networking skills 
  • Experience in using a range of different procurement strategies depending on size and type of deal and supplier. 

We're looking for someone with the following skills, knowledge and experience; 

  • Advanced Excel skills 
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail 
  • Strong communication with Stakeholder's
  • Self-starter, able to work without day to day supervision work with a sense of autonomy
  • Travel within Europe will be required (2 - 3 short trips per quarter) 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint 

Education / Qualifications / Professional Certificates 

  • Relevant degree 
  • CIPS qualified
