The role

As Procurement Co-ordinator you will have an active role helping Kindred Group to manage over £650m of spend annually. The role touches all aspects of procurement, so no two days will be the same. You may be sourcing suppliers and negotiating contracts one day, then reviewing reports and defining strategy the next!

The role will focus on supporting all areas of the company and procurement team by;

  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business and managing tactical procurement activity.
  • Provide management reporting for key Procurement KPIs.
  • Assisting with the management, maintenance, and optimisation of procurement systems and tools, supporting the implementation of new systems where required.
  • Ensuring all procurement activities follow the correct internal policies & processes.
  • Identifying gaps and implementing improvements related to procurement processes and procedures.

Key accountabilities

  • Carry out tactical buying, obtaining quotations, negotiating with suppliers and making recommendations to the business on purchasing activity.
  • Support the on-boarding and ongoing due diligence of suppliers, take ownership of ensuring compliance to the contracting and purchase-to-pay policies and processes.
  • Act as a first point of contact for the operational aspects of procurement, dealing with day-to-day contract and purchase requests, escalating as appropriate.
  • Ensuring the procurement tools (spend management, contract management etc.) are accurate and up to date.
  • Supporting the procurement team by reliably prioritising and managing own workload recognising the importance of effective communication both with internal and external stakeholders acting as an ambassador for the department

We're looking for someone with the following skills, knowledge and experience.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A self-starter, who can take the initiative and be able to work without day-to-day supervision.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with management and judgement to manage a busy workload are essential.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Fusion would be an advantage.
