As a People Advisor you will be responsible for partnering closely with the business to provide effective and timely People support and an exceptional People experience. This role will also work with the People Experience (PX) team to drive the efficiency and effectiveness of our business processes and policies across the People function and improve core operational HR activities so that they focused on outcome and the best employee experience.

 

What you will do

  • Act as the advisor for the locations you are looking after, advising managers and key stakeholders on location specific policies and procedures. This includes family leave matters, employment law guidance and local benefits to name a few.
  • Manage employee relations issues, such as performance plans, consultation and sickness/absence procedures.
  • Ensure we remain compliant at all times with local legislation e.g., right to work checks in your locations, GDPR. Work with the wider PX team and OE team to ensure any local compliance changes are captured in our People systems, processes and policies.
  • Act as a People interface for payroll for the locations you are looking after, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of HR information for payroll (managing the “inputs”), coordinating with colleagues across the People function where necessary; ticket management for payroll related JIRAs, ensuring they are appropriately assigned and monitored to ensure resolution; liaise effectively and maintain good working relationships with the Global Payroll Team.
  • You will be responsible for running onboarding sessions for new starters as well as working closely with the People Experience (PX) team in ensuring that the new starters onboarding is a positive experience. This includes compliance checks e.g. right to work.
  • You will be proficient in Workday with responsibility in providing training to employees and managers in how to use the system; participating in project work such as design, testing, training, roll out and support where required.
  • Work closely with the PX team to continuously improve employee experience and our People processes and procedures to ensure all employee changes are done correctly and the data in our HR system is accurate and kept up to date.
  • Work with the People Experience Team Manager to ensure the information and documents hosted on our People Knowledge Base on Confluence are up to date and relevant for our employees and managers.
  • Act as key contact for immigration and global mobility queries for the locations you oversee including supporting with work permit and visa applications.
  • Supporting key People projects and activities on an ad hoc basis.
  • Proactively keep up to date with changes in local employment law and trends within HR.
  • Deliver a great employee experience for our employees.

 

Your experience

  • You have at least a couple of years of experience working in a similar role where you have been advising and guiding the business on a range of HR matters.
  • Your customer service ethos is second to none. You always aim to give our employees and managers an excellent service no matter how hectic your day or what the query may be.
  • You have great communication skills and an ability to quickly establish rapport with stakeholders on different levels and develop working relationships built on trust.
  • You are proactive and able to work on your own initiative, often spotting problems before they arise.
  • You have been able to develop excellent organisation and prioritisation skills in previous roles and have proven your great attention to detail.
  • While you are taking a structured approach to your work tasks, you have an agile mindset and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • You have an understanding of HR theory and Maltese employment law (and ideally also other countries) and an ability to apply this knowledge to basic queries and cases.
  • You are passionate about HR and enjoy keeping up to date with industry trends and legislation.
