You'll be joining a team of UX professionals from varying backgrounds that work to create industry-leading experiences across all our channels. We in the UX department play a crucial role in driving a customer-first approach, where we strive to exceed our customer, regulator, and commercial expectations.

 

As a Lead UI Designer, you'll be responsible for a key area of the overall user experience. In this specific area, you'll manage a team that delivers a world class experience. You'll also need to align with the wider department to ensure a seamless experience generally.

 

Your key responsibilites

 

  • Supporting the overall UX strategy by ensuring your key area follows and contributes to the bigger picture
  • Taking ownership and hands on delivery of a specific (set of) customer experience(s), leading your team by example
  • Working with the other UI / UX leads to ensure a rounded approach to delivering a world class experience
  • Working with Experience Owner(s) to define the vision for their area, ensuring it fits with the wider direction and strategy
  • Understanding our business and ensuring UI is effective in delivering against commercial objectives
  • Actively managing a group of UI Designers
  • Working with the Head of UI Design to ensure the people you manage have clear career plans with training and development to support these goals
  • Supporting your senior managers in the implementation of UX and company policies
  • Working with your peers across the UX team, offering guidance to other disciplines where needed
  • Supporting UX management in tracking costs, team development areas and inputs to the wider experience strategy
  • Contributing to continuously improve the UX process and communication

 

You'll need the following skills or experience

 

  • Expert in the practice of user centred design
  • Expert in the creation of cross channel digital design solutions
  • Expert in UI / Prototyping tools and their correct application (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Principle etc.)
  • In depth knowledge of industry best-practice
  • Experience with Design Systems and their practical application
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JS and CMS's
  • Expert in running workshops
  • Experience working with and running user research
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confidence in managing a number of UI Designers within the same location
  • Experience delivering a multi-brand, multi-product and multi-channel product
  • Depth of experience leading delivery within an agile environment
  • Experience working with senior business stakeholders
  • Ability to make short term decisions while retaining a long-term vision
  • A detailed understanding of business and commercial objectives
  • Experience working directly with HR & recruitment teams with a working knowledge of company policies for your location
