About the role:

Due to a track record of successfully delivering major work, Kindred are undertaking a large back-end project. We are looking for software developers of a range of experience to help us build a globally scalable betting platform:

- Greenfield project with little technical debt.

- Best-in-class technologies (see skills below).

- Distributed architecture.

- Targeting high platform throughput and scalability.

- Adhering to engineering principles.

The development team is backed by outstanding management, architecture, product, and delivery teams. In addition, several great full-stack development teams run in parallel and offer help readily. We put great effort in building a workplace of trust and collaboration, and we hope you do too.

Essential skills: 
 

• High proficiency in a language of the candidate's choosing.
• Our platform predominantly uses node + typescript.
• Strong engineering principles (error handling, test pyramid, deployment, IaC).
• High proficiency in a database of the candidate's choosing.
• Our platform uses postgres + couchbase + elasticsearch.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, collaboration skills.
• A down-to-earth, make-it-happen attitude.

Desired skills: 
 

• Distributed computing (microservices, nosql databases, distributed caches).
• Code performance (collections, profiling, networking).
• Message oriented middleware (kafka).
• js/typescript.
• Containerisation (docker, kubernetes, helm, skaffold).
• CICD pipelines (Jenkinsfile).
• Infrastructure as code (terraform, scripts).
