Interim Senior Group Accountant

The role


Kindred are a group of 9 brands which together form one of the World's largest online gaming groups.  We're now on the lookout for an experienced Interim Senior Group Accountant to join the small yet pivotal Group Financial Reporting team for an initial period of six months.  As a business we embrace a hybrid working model so you will be able to split your time between remote and office based working in our amazing Wimbledon based offices. 


We anticipate the interim contract will run for an initial six months. 


As Senior Group Accountant you will be a key asset, supporting the team with monthly, quarterly and annual processes before and during our year end at the end of December.  You will also have the opportunity to support with other finance related projects, driven by the growth of the business, such as consolidation system implementation and acquisition related activities. You will work closely with key internal stakeholders, such as local Financial Controllers from various jurisdictions, the Business Finance team and Investor Relations, and will also need to liaise with our group auditors.


This is a varied role that requires strong IFRS background, Group/consolidation and audit experience and great communication skills. 


What you will do:


  • Own the monthly accounting for key Group subsidiaries, to be prepared in line with the reporting timetable
  • Support the coordination of the monthly and quarterly closing process and production of the consolidated financial statements
  • Detailed monthly review of significant subsidiaries liaising with local Financial Controllers
  • Monthly analysis of group numbers and support in the production of the Board pack and commentary
  • Support production of quarterly reports and Q&A documents
  • Support production of the back half of the Annual Report
  • Provide support for the production of the front half/full annual report, liaising with other internal teams as required.
  • Significant contributor to the audit process with our statutory auditors
  • Involvement in M&A activities: integration of the acquired company into our consolidation & support the integration of the acquired company into the ERP system
  • As an IFRS technical expert, involvement in the accounting treatment of judgmental/technically complex areas that impact the Group numbers
  • Provision of technical advice and guidance to our local finance teams.
  • Production of the Group accounting manual and group policies
  • Support in the review of group processes and in the implementation of incremental or more substantial changes to gain efficiency
  • Involvement in the implementation of any new accounting standards
  • Involvement in the implementation of the new consolidation system and, in the near future, a new ERP system
  • Review of local statutory financial statements and responsible for the preparation of some accounts


Your experience


  • Relevant professional qualification, such as ACA (or similar) with 2+ year PQE
  • Strong and up to date knowledge of IFRS essential
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Proactive and keen to drive change
