The role

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Group Financial Reporting Manager with a deep understanding of IFRS standards and a knack for process improvement. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that the Group's external financial reporting is accurate and compliant, as well as providing insightful analysis. Beyond this, you will use your proactivity to elevate Group processes and policies to drive operational efficiency.

What you will do

  • Coordinate and oversee the monthly and quarterly closing timetables and processes.
  • Conduct comprehensive monthly reviews and analyses of subsidiary results, collaborating closely with local Financial Controllers.
  • Lead the creation of monthly consolidated financial statements and Board packs, accompanied by thorough analysis and commentary.
  • Drive the preparation of the Group's quarterly financial reports, engaging with senior stakeholders and delivering required analyses.
  • Lead the production of the back half of the Annual Report, and play a key role in supporting the Communications team with the overall process and report.
  • Support in managing the audit process with our Group statutory auditors and preparation of key deliverables.
  • Apply your advanced IFRS technical expertise to address the accounting treatment of judgmental/technically complex areas that impact the Group figures, such as impairment, shared based payments and key provisions.
  • Participate in M&A activities, including the seamless integration of consolidated numbers, Group processes and system integrations.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to local finance teams on Group processes and judgmental areas.
  • Review and enhance Group processes, taking the lead in implementing incremental or significant changes to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with the Group Technical Accounting Manager to establish and update Group accounting policie and maintain a comprehensive Group accounting policy manual.
  • Directly manage one qualified accountant, overseeing their day-to-day activities and fostering their professional development through the setting of objectives and goals.
  • Engage actively in the upcoming implementation of and transition to a new Group financial reporting system.
  • Assist local finance teams in producing statutory financial statements and undertake comprehensive reviews from a Group perspective.

 

 

Your experience

  • Relevant professional qualification, such as ACA (or similar) with 4+ year PQE
  • Audit experience in a medium to large practice and relevant industry experience preferred
  • Exposure to listed companies an advantage
  • Advanced and up to date knowledge of IFRS essential
  • Advanced Excel skills 
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in writing external financial reports
  • Proactive and keen to drive change
