Job purpose/summary

Reporting to the VP Finance, the Assistant Controller will establish and build a high performing accounting team to meet the growth demands of Kindred's expansion in the US. Responsible for overseeing the daily functions of online gaming and sports betting accounting and financial reporting. You will partner with other functions outside finance in the US and globally, and build strong network across Kindred Group.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee Accounting, Payroll, Tax and Banking Operations.
  • Project Manage new state launches, including on-site (on premise at Casino) and in-state regulatory approvals
  • Lead an accounting team for the US Operations.
  • Manage month end close responsibilities, including the review of the following: reconciliations, journal entries, G/L transactional review, sub ledger review, revenue accounting, and inter-company transactions.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly management accounts and related information to Group Finance
  • Work together with HR and external advisors on employee related tax issues
  • Ensure compliance with all local corporate and tax legislation and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Understands underlying financial results and processes and suggest improvements for the business.
  • Be responsible for and manage contacts with the market access partners, regulators and the external auditors. Supervise the annual audit of Kindred USA, responsible for smooth delivery and clean audit reports.
  • Manage specific finance projects related to Kindred Group's Finance Operations in the USA (systems and processes implementation, etc.).
  • Keep up to date with local changes in industry, competitors, regulations and taxation


What have you done?

  • Public Accounting experience within last 5 years (Big 4 preferred)
  • CPA license
  • At least 3 years post qualification experience in practice and/or industry iGaming or digital/e-Commerce industry experience is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills
  • Experience in dealing with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of leading a team.
