We are looking for a passionate Senior Frontend Engineer with experience working in React, JavaScript, and TypeScript to join our Transaction Services (TS) team within the Payments Area.

Transaction Services (TS) plays a pivotal role in our infrastructure: we own and maintain critical components that various internal teams and systems rely on daily. Because these components are dependencies for the wider business, reliability and scalability are non-negotiable.

In this role, you will act as the primary frontend anchor within a team that is heavily backend-focused. You will bridge the gap between these critical backend services and the user interfaces that consume them. Since you may be the sole frontend expert in the team, you will also collaborate with other frontend engineers across the wider area, operating as a "virtual team" to ensure alignment on best practices and architecture.

Your Main Responsibilities

Engineering & Architecture: Design and implement the user interface of our web applications, utilizing React, TypeScript, and Micro-frontend architecture.
Critical Ownership: Manage components that are vital dependencies for internal teams. You will ensure high quality and performant code to maintain service reliability.
Strategic Partnership: Participate in design discussions and challenge the Product Owner and Architects to find great solutions to complex engineering challenges.
Full Ownership: We believe in the "You Design it, You Build It, You Test It, You Run It, You Tweak It" ethos. You will manage the full SDLC, including CI/CD and production uptime.
Mentorship: As a Senior Engineer, sharing knowledge and best practices comes naturally to you; you will support colleagues and foster a culture of feedback and improvement.
Proactif: Spot problems before they arise and take initiative to resolve them

Our Tech Stack

Core: JavaScript, TypeScript, React.
UI: CSS, UI libraries, and HTML.
Architecture: Micro frontend architecture, REST APIs.
State Management: Redux or similar.
Testing: Mocha/Jest, Cypress E2E Testing.
DevOps: CI/CD using Jenkins.

To excel in this role, we believe you...

Have strong experience working as a Frontend Developer/Engineer.
Are proficient with CSS, HTML, and UI libraries.
Have a deep understanding of React Hooks and TDD/BDD methodologies.
Have experience implementing CI/CD practices (git branching, automated pipelines) and releasing components to production.
Are comfortable investigating and solving production issues (Incident Management experience is a plus).
Soft Skills: You are proactive and take pride in translating complex business scenarios into high-quality code. You are a positive team player who puts collaboration above all else.
