The role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Platform Delivery and Reliability Services (PDRS) team. If you thrive in a fast-paced and technically challenging environment, we invite you to join our team!

As a Senior SRE, you will play a crucial role in scaling our Observability Platform to enhance and maintain the reliability of infrastructure services supporting our brands, with an automation-first spearheading design activities mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives around Splunk and other logging solutions, advocating for sensible and scalable systems while leading design activities.
  • Proactively design, build, and integrate solutions to provide Monitoring and Observability with an automation-first mindset.
  • Proactively prevent issues and work on troubleshooting.
  • Diagnose, resolve, and prevent production issues to ensure our systems run smoothly.
  • Enhance the overall reliability of our products and services.
  • Ensure seamless integration of observability requirements (metrics, traces, logs, alerts, etc.) into the design of new systems by bridging the gap between Development and Infrastructure teams.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (preferably 5+ years). 
  • Experience in logging, with a strong focus on Splunk (ElasticSearch, Graylog, FluentD, Vector).
  • Solid background in coding, including:
    • Script writing in languages such as Bash, Python, Golang, or similar.
    • Code review skills, with the ability to give and receive feedback.
  • Deep understanding of the Linux Operating System.
  • Experience working with Distributed Systems.
  • Proven expertise in Time Series Databases and Visualization, particularly Grafana.
  • Hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Alerting and Monitoring: Prometheus, Icinga, Datadog, Nagios.
    • Application Performance Management (APM): New Relic, AppDynamics, Instana.
  • Experience with infrastructure building tools, including:
    • Continuous Deployment/Continuous Integration (CD/CI): Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions.
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes or Nomad) and experience in Public or Private Clouds (AWS, Azure, or OpenStack) is considered a plus.
  • Experience and interest in working with AI and AI tools is a plus

Ensure that you adhere to the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) obligations for your role.

  • Identify and raise any non-compliance incidents promptly to your line manager.
  • Challenge processes, policies and projects that will negatively impact compliance within the Group.
  • Complete all mandatory compliance training assigned to you.
  • Reach out to the Compliance Teams if unsure of any of your compliance obligations or the requirements are unclear.
