The role

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be part of a talented and cross-functional agile team of Frontend Engineers and Testers who have a true passion for what they do. The team focuses on building highly reliable and scalable microservices and UIs/features for our products that serve millions of users worldwide. 
 
In this role, you will be an important member of the team as you will be responsible for ensuring top quality with each release and drive the automation work forward. As we are using JavaScript as our main programming language and Cypress as our Automation Testing Framework, we see that you have solid knowledge and experience in JavaScript and Cypress or equivalent automation frameworks and that you have a passion for problem solving, mentoring and knowledge sharing to be successful in the role.  
 

What you will do

Manual Testing: Conduct comprehensive manual testing on both web and mobile devices and operating systems to identify defects, inconsistencies, and usability issues.

  • Test Planning: Collaborate with product owners, software engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, create detailed test plans, and test cases that cover all aspects of the requirements.
  • Test Automation: Implement and maintain automated test scenarios using test automation framework.
  • Regression Testing: Perform regular regression testing to ensure that new features and bug fixes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
  • Exploratory Testing: Proactively explore the products to identify hidden issues, edge cases, and opportunities for usability enhancements.
  • Defect Reporting: Document and report defects following established processes, providing detailed descriptions, steps to reproduce, and including screenshots or videos when necessary.
  • Issue Tracking: Use issue tracking systems to manage and monitor defects throughout the testing lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution and verification. 
  • Test Documentation: Keep test documentation accurate and up-to-date, including test plans, test cases, and testing guidelines.
  • Feedback and Improvement: Contribute ideas for process improvements, testing methodologies, and quality enhancement strategies to improve the overall QA process.
  • Team Collaboration: Be a committed team player, taking ownership of team goals and actively participating in achieving them  
  • Domain Knowledge: Over time be the product expert of the team and sounding board when it comes to impact of changes 
  • Decision-Making: Confidently make decisions that impact the team's success and progress   

 

Your experience

  • Several years of experience with frontend automation testing using JavaScript/Typescript, as well as experience in automation testing tools like Cypress or equivalent automation frameworks  
  • Good understanding of QA best practices and strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes 
  • Experience with non-functional testing in view of having performant and scalable web applications.
  • Experience and knowledge on how to create an automation framework from scratch, taking full responsibility from ideation through to implementation, execution & maintenance 
  • Experience working in Agile teams with a shift-left mentality in testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues.
