As a Senior QA Engineer in the clickstream Data Engineering team, you will join a talented team of Engineers with a passion for building reliable and scalable data products. The team focuses on ensuring high-quality ingestion, transformation, and analysis of clickstream data.
You will play a key role in guaranteeing the quality and reliability of our clickstream data pipelines with each release. You will drive automation efforts, ensuring our systems are highly performant and scalable. We use JavaScript as our main programming language, SQL, R and Python for data engineering, and Cypress as our Automation Testing Framework, we expect you to have solid expertise in those, or equivalent frameworks. A passion for problem-solving, mentoring, and knowledge sharing will be key to your success in this role.
· Manual Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing on clickstream data ingestion and transformation processes, ensuring reliability across different platforms and devices.
· Test Planning: Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand clickstream data requirements, creating detailed test plans and cases.
· Test Automation: Implement and maintain automated test scenarios focused on clickstream data accuracy, scalability, and overall system integrity.
· Regression Testing: Perform regular regression testing to ensure new features and updates don't affect existing clickstream data pipelines.
· Exploratory Testing: Proactively test the clickstream pipelines to identify edge cases and ensure seamless data flows.
· Defect Reporting: Document and report defects with detailed descriptions, steps to reproduce, and relevant logs or screenshots, ensuring clarity in the defect management process.
· Issue Tracking: Use issue tracking systems to manage, monitor, and verify defects related to clickstream data ingestion and analytics processes.
· Test Documentation: Keep test documentation updated, including test cases, test scripts, and guidelines specific to clickstream data.
· Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest improvements in processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance the quality of the clickstream data lifecycle.
· Team Collaboration: Actively collaborate with the broader team, contributing to team goals and ensuring the success of all clickstream data quality initiatives.
· Domain Expertise: Become the product expert on clickstream data, providing insights and serving as the go-to resource for assessing the impact of changes in data flows.
· Decision-Making: Make data-driven decisions that positively impact the team's delivery of reliable clickstream data to the organisation.
· Several years of experience in frontend or data pipeline automation testing using JavaScript/TypeScript, and proficiency with automation tools like Cypress, or equivalent frameworks.
· A strong understanding of QA best practices and methodologies specific to testing high-volume data ingestion systems.
· Experience with non-functional testing to ensure performance and scalability of clickstream data pipelines.
· Proven ability to create and maintain an automation framework from scratch, owning it from ideation to execution and continuous improvement.
· Experience working in Agile teams with a shift-left mentality, embedding testing early in the development cycle.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, especially in identifying and debugging complex clickstream data issues.
