The role

We are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Senior DevOps Engineer (PAM Operations) to join our team in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in building a fully automated platform by overseeing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools, implementing and managing automation, and enhancing our Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings.

Your focus will be on establishing our Golden Path: developing best practices, guidelines, and recommendations around architecture, tooling, testing, compliance, and observability. You'll also streamline development cycles and reduce time-to-market for customer-facing services through automation, all while adopting a zero-downtime approach to maintain the stability and reliability of our operations. If you're eager to drive innovation and make a significant impact, this is your opportunity to shine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Define and support the creation of services and ensure the alignment among engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DevOps practices seamlessly into the development lifecycle.
  • Enhance platform scalability, reliability, and security in on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Advocate for DevOps best practices, promoting a culture of automation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to identify and analyze incidents, develop and implement solutions
  • Stay up to date with emerging tools, trends, and technologies, and share knowledge within the team.
  • Have the patience and ability as a subject matter expert to communicate with a wide variety of stake holders.
  • Ensure that you adhere to the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) obligations for your role.
  • Identify and raise any non-compliance incidents promptly to your line manager.
  • Challenge processes, policies and projects that will negatively impact compliance within the Group.
  • Complete all mandatory compliance training assigned to you.
  • Reach out to the Compliance Teams if unsure of any of your compliance obligations or the requirements are unclear.

Skills Required:

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or Developer.
  • Experience of designing and building reusable CI/CD pipelines using industry standard tools such as Jenkins, Github Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, TeamCity.
  • Experience with container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes and working in a dynamic containerised environment.
  • Expertise in building services in Java and Spring frameworks.
  • Expertise in build tools (Maven, Gradle)
  • Expertise in microservice architecture
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster partnerships and drive cross-functional alignment.
