About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Consultant to collaborate with our team in supporting and enhancing our on-premises OpenStack cloud platform and Ceph storage system. While our engineers are highly skilled and manage most tasks, there is a need for additional expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting our large-scale Ceph setup to ensure reliability and efficiency. Automation is a key part of our infrastructure processes, with Ansible playing a central role, making this a critical area for contribution. This hands-on, collaborative role will focus on bridging any skills gaps while driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the engineering team to support and scale our OpenStack cloud platform.
• Provide deep expertise to troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain our Ceph storage system.
• Develop and enhance automation workflows using Ansible to streamline processes and improve reliability.
• Collaborate to resolve issues across cloud, storage, and networking systems while sharing knowledge with the team.
• Write infrastructure automation tools and scripts using Python to complement Ansible workflows.
• Assist with network configurations and ensure robust connectivity within the cloud environment.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions and mentor the team to address any skills gaps, particularly around Ceph.

Key Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Ceph storage, including deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting in large environments.
• Expertise in OpenStack cloud environments with a proven ability to manage and optimize operations.
• Advanced automation skills, particularly with Ansible, and a commitment to streamlining infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python for complementing Ansible with custom scripts and tools.
• Advanced networking skills, including configuration, security, and diagnostics.
• Extensive experience with Linux systems in cloud and storage contexts.
• A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills to work seamlessly with the team.
