The role

At Kindred, data and analytics are crucial to our growth and innovation as we expand into new markets. We are seeking a Senior Cloud Data Engineer with extensive experience in clickstream data to join our Analytics Tech team. In this role, you will manage our clickstream data architecture on AWS, ensuring the generation of high-quality datasets that accurately reflect customer behaviour across various digital platforms. 

You will work with cutting-edge technologies, including Snowplow for event tracking, Amazon Redshift for data warehousing, dbt cloud for data transformations, and Open Metadata for data governance. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you'll help define and implement next-generation data architectures that drive actionable insights and enhance operational efficiency. What you will do

  • Equip analysts and other teams with efficient models for decision making, marketing, product reporting, analysis analysis.  
  • Drive automation initiatives by building schemas that facilitate automated data processing workflows, aligning with the long-term vision for Redshift 
  • Drive the adoption of dbt as a service by providing training, support, and documentation, while ensuring data models are scalable and efficient. 
  • Develop and deploy a semantic layer to connect dbt models with natural language querying tools, enhancing data access and analysis for business users. 
  • Optimize time-to-insight through effective use of dbt and optimization of Redshift data structures. 
  • Share expertise in data collection and transformation practices to promote awareness of tracking and dbt across the organization. 
  • Support proof-of-concept generative AI initiatives to explore opportunities for operational efficiencies and business growth. 
  • Stay updated on advancements in data collection, transformation, cloud, and AI technologies, bringing innovative ideas to data engineering practices. 

 

Your experience

  • Strong understanding of clickstream data and data collection. 
  • Strong background in data modelling, particularly in clickstream data modelling. 
  • Extensive experience with data build tools such as dbt, and advanced data modelling skills. 
  • Understanding of AWS DevOps practices 
  • Experience in implementing governance frameworks. 
  • Experience with data catalogues to document processes and data models for maintainability and knowledge transfer. 
  • Excellent proficiency in SQL, Python, or any other programming language (advantageous). 
  • Experience in introducing technical efficiencies as code optimisation and process improvements, such as ways of working.  
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, exhibiting a willingness to learn through iterative processes and demonstrating a proactive attitude. 
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, translating business requirements into technical specifications for data models. 
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering large analytical projects while effectively managing stakeholders. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • In addition, it would be advatangeous to have: 
  • AWS certification. 
  • dbt certification. 
  • Experience as a digital analytics implementation developer. 
  • Knowledge of Python.
