We are building the sportsbook of tomorrow at FDJ United. Generating actionable insights from our data asset is at the heart of how we will deliver an unrivalled customer experience and unlock operational efficiencies through automation.

We are developing an Analytics function that focuses on delivering impactful insights by aligning closely with stakeholders across sportsbook. This team acts as a bridge between different data-focused teams and operational stakeholders ensuring that insights are not only generated but also effectively utilised to continuously evolve our Sportsbook product. The Analytics team will work cross-functionally to bring business context into data discussions, creating a seamless flow of information that supports everything from daily operations to long-term strategic planning. Analytics within sportsbook will be classified into Product Performance and Product Development Analytics teams.

At this exciting time of building this Analytics function, we are now looking for a Senior Insight Analyst to join our Data organisation and contribute to the success of our Sportsbook Platform. This role will blend data and analytics expertise with a deep understanding of sportsbook operations, and you'll work closely with the Analytics Team Lead to partner with stakeholders to enhance both stakeholder and customer experiences.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop reporting and analysis for sportsbook stakeholders to identify poor sportsbook performance, providing them with direct access to analytical insights, reports, and research.
  • Conduct root-cause analyses to diagnose inaccurate odds, suboptimal paybacks, and trading limits.
  • Present sportsbook performance insights to key business stakeholders.
  • Work with Quant & Data Science teams to develop our proprietary pricing models and risk algorithms.
  • Analyze performance data to identify pain points and propose solutions that enhance the betting experience for customers while optimizing risk and trading configurations.

Your experience:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience working in the sports betting industry, supporting areas including trading, risk management, and operations.
  • A keen interest in sports and sports betting.
  • Advanced understanding of SQL (BigQuery) and experience analyzing large datasets. Proficiency in analytical languages (Python, R) is a plus.
  • Proficient in using tools such as Power BI, QuickSight, Excel, Python, and other tools for data analysis and presentation.
  • Familiarity with any cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • A solid understanding of general statistical concepts and theories.
  • Knowledge of the methods and mathematics that apply to bookmaking.
  • A record of translating data insights into actionable steps to derive value. Understanding the lifecycle of these insights and how other teams will utilize them.
  • A curious mindset and the ability to bring insights into life with effective data visualization and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to explain complex or domain-specific concepts to non-technical stakeholders and peers in the data organization, including Data Science, Quant, and Reporting teams.
  • The ability to prioritize personal tasks efficiently based on an understanding of business needs and value.
  • A growth mindset—for yourself and in supporting your team.
