Regulatory Compliance Officer (Dutch language)

As the online gambling industry evolves, we constantly keep up with new market dynamics and strict regulations. We operate in a heavily regulated environment and the Compliance Department actively supports the business in transforming compliance complexity into real opportunities, while developing our operations in synergy with the regulated environment.

In the international context, online gambling represents a fast-growing, everchanging landscape characterised by a lack of harmonisation in regulations across markets, which demands high levels of adaptability, conformity, and risk management that the Regulatory Officer will champion day in, day out.

As a Regulatory Officer, you will be building close relationships with key internal stakeholders and lead strategic partnerships with external third parties ranging from public authorities to commercial partners. The role itself is designed to grow as you develop and accumulate experience. It is an exciting but challenging role that requires resilience, commitment, and good understanding of technology, systems and their relationship with the law.

You are going to be involved in the effective planning, delivery and improvement of Kindred Group's regulatory compliance activities and projects, which lie at the core of everything we accomplish as a customer-focused business.

  What you will do

  • Translate Kindred Group's strategic cycles and the Compliance department's vision and objectives into measurable results and overall high performance in GRC matters.
  • Exercise exceptional judgment under pressure, staying abreast of political, legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the business. Accurately analyse and interpret complex situations, make sound, well-researched decisions, and adapt GRC tactics dynamically to ensure compliance in a volatile environment.
  • Position yourself as a master of process optimisation. Continuously analyse compliance processes, identifying and mitigating potential risks before they materialise. Develop and implement solutions to streamline workflows and maximize GRC delivery efficiency.
  • Forge trust-based relationships with internal stakeholders across departments. Foster open communication and collaboration to address regulatory compliance challenges efficiently, ensuring leaders and experts are consulted, and risks are addressed proactively within established GRC framework.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of existing policies and procedures, identifying and addressing gaps with swift remedial actions. Develop and implement substantiated and actionable plans to address GRC shortcomings with a view to maintaining excellence in compliance and sustainability. Draft, manage, and disseminate clear and concise internal and external communications.
  • Research, develop and furnish valuable, real-time compliance advice and guidance, bespoke to business context whilst anticipating potential problems and risks. Act as both an architect and ambassador for corporate improvement; develop and deliver comprehensive compliance programmes in collaboration with the 1st Line of Defence.
  • Own and manage Kindred's local (re)licensing projects from start to finish. Develop a comprehensive understanding of local regulations and build strong relationships with regulatory authorities. Manage all aspects related to the preparation, delivery, testing and reporting of regulatory audits.
  • Play a pivotal role in resolving regulatory requests, complaints or investigations. Demonstrate a high level of expertise, attention to detail, and regulatory management skills to ensure all investigations and inquiries are addressed efficiently and successfully.
  • Actively support new product launches in local markets. Partner with product development teams to identify potential compliance challenges early and develop solutions to ensure efficient rollouts that meet all regulatory requirements within tight timeframes.
  • Lead and coordinate reporting obligations to various entities, requiring meticulous data gathering and collaboration with internal stakeholders. Develop efficient reporting processes and quality management controls to ensure all regulatory deadlines are met with accurate and complete information.

How will success be measured in your role?

  • Individual performance, quality and timeliness of work delivered.
  • Progress and delivery on set Objectives and Key Results.
  • Measurable improvement in business compliance performance and maintaining regulatory clean sheet.
  • Team performance.

About you and your experience

  • Experience (minimum 3-5 years) in a regulatory role within online gambling or a highly-regulated industry (e.g. fintech, banking, digital services). This experience should demonstrate a proven ability to deliver successful business and GRC outcomes in complex regulatory environment and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate effectively with government authorities. Experience interacting or assisting with authorities as part of routine work or within official regulatory inquiries, investigations, or other regulatory procedures involving large stakeholder-cohort management.
  • Competent communicator able to influence and advocate to both internal stakeholders and external regulators in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner. You will be able to anticipate regulatory shifts and proactively advise on their implications for Kindred Group's multijurisdictional business landscape.
  • Experience assisting in the preparation and production of effective and legally sound regulatory responses and defences produced via the coordination of vast internal/external resources in a geographically dispersed organization.
  • Exceptional writing and drafting skills to craft clear, concise, and persuasive legal and regulatory documents tailored to various audiences.

You will be responsible for managing and improving Kindred Group's GRC processes, ensuring efficient operations within a heavily regulated environment. This should include a good understanding of structured GRC development programmes.
