About the Racing Trader Role

  • Report directly to the AU/Global Trading Manager (Racing).
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely provision of events, markets, and odds for our Global Horse Racing betting product.

These would be both feed-driven and manually created including special markets, futures, etc.

In regards to feed-driven data, one must be proactive and tech-savvy in recognizing mismatched/incorrect data and be able to communicate circumstances effectively to relevant internal/external departments.  

  • Responsible for liabilities and positions across the entire Horse Racing betting product and making price/market changes in accordance with Trading KPIs and strategy.
  • Responsible for monitoring and responding to activity or information that could impact the profitability of the Horse Racing product.
  • Monitor appropriate competitor markets and take action as required.  
  • Assist risk management with the identification of a customer's / group of customers' risk profiles.
  • Coordinate with the internal Sportsbook team on Strategy, Marketing, Promotional, and Operational issues.

Your experience:

  • Basic understanding of the methods used that apply to Horse Racing bookmaking odds and percentages.
  • A thorough understanding of Horse Racing terms and terminology as well as Form.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to handle high workloads, and be focused on making informed decisions under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office products particularly Excel.
  • Understanding of customer profiling and behavioral trends.
  • Hard-working, flexible, and enthusiastic about meeting challenges with solutions.
  • Industry experience is desirable but not essential for this role.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
  • They must possess first-class communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
  • They will have the enthusiasm to drive and enhance our existing product.
  • Must be adaptable and work to a high level in a small and close team environment of many nationalities and ages.
  • Shift patterns are variable, including days, evenings, weekends, and all public holidays (ex Christmas). Attractive 6 weeks annual leave and remuneration offered.
