The role 

 

Please note: This role is offered as a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC)

The HR Advisor will be a key part of the People Partnering & Operations team for OBG and is responsible for delivering a full range of HR Services across Sweden which is one of our Hub locations, and several other smaller locations within Europe. You will work very closely with our People Experience team in Malta to ensure all queries are resolved in a timely manner and that we deliver a great experience for our employees. 

 

Where the People Experience team does not own a process, you will take responsibility for it, as well as local activities related to global processes. These include: onboarding and leaver processes, performance management, monthly payroll, Employee Relations, managing exit interviews, managing and marketing local benefits and ensuring all processes run from the shared service team and are managed correctly (pre boarding, administration etc). 

 

As part of this role you will also be expected to continuously work to improve and automate the full range of process, support, services and activities across the HR function in the Online Betting and Gaming Business Unit.

 

What will you be doing? 

 

  • Delivering a great employee experience for our employees. 
  • You will be the HR generalist for the locations you are looking after and be advising managers and other key stakeholders on location specific policies and procedures, such as parental leave matters,  work environment, employment law guidance. 
  • You will be managing employee relations issues, such as performance plans, consultation, and sickness/absence procedures. 
  • You will perform a variety of HR administrative tasks such as supporting work permit and visa applications, support the monthly payroll process and ensure our local templates, process documentation and user guides are continuously updated and comply with internal guidelines.  
  • You will be responsible for any face to face / virtual elements of onboarding of our new starters in your locations. 
  • You will be a HRIS (Workday) Super User with responsibility for training others in how to use the HRIS; participating in project work such as design, testing, training, roll-out and support.  
  • You work closely with the People Experience Team to continuously improve the employee experience and our HR processes and procedures and to ensure all employee changes are done correctly and the data in our HR system is accurate and kept up to date. 
  • You provide ad-hoc support to the HR Team and the wider business as and when needed and will support the HR Business Partners and the wider HR function in delivering the HR roadmap.  
  • You will be working on bigger HR related projects such as the Group HR transformation and Workday tenant merger project in 2026.
  • You are responsible for updating contract templates
  • You will play a key role as the local expert and go to person. 
  • Proactively keep up to date with changes in local employment law and trends within HR. 

 

What have you done? 

  

  • You have at least a couple of years of experience working in a similar role where you have been advising and guiding the business on a range of HR matters. 
  • Your customer service ethos is second to none. You always aim to give our employees and managers an excellent service no matter how hectic your day or what the query may be. 
  • You have great communication skills and an ability to quickly establishing rapport with stakeholders on different levels and develop working relationships built on trust. 
  • You are comfortable with the MS Office suite and are quick to learn new systems. Ideally you even have experience from ticketing systems such as Jira. 
  • You are proactive and able to work on your own initiative, often spotting problems before they arise. 
  • You have been able to develop excellent organisation and prioritisation skills in previous roles and have proven your great attention to detail. 
  • While you are taking a structured approach to your work tasks, you have an agile mindset and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English 
  • You have an understanding of HR theory and Swedish employment law (and ideally also other countries) and an ability to apply this knowledge to basic queries and cases 
  • You are passionate about HR and enjoy keeping up to date with industry trends and legislation.
  • Ensure that you adhere to the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) obligations for your role. 
  • Identify and raise any non-compliance incidents promptly to your line manager. 
  • Challenge processes, policies and projects that will negatively impact compliance within the Group. 
  • Complete all mandatory compliance training assigned to you. 
  • Reach out to the Compliance Teams if unsure of any of your compliance obligations or the requirements are unclear.
