The Role

The Head of Product will lead Kindred's global Sportsbook platform product organization, overseeing the entire product management function, UX design, and strategy. Reporting to the Director of Sportsbook Technology, you will be responsible for defining the vision, setting priorities, and ensuring seamless collaboration between product, engineering, design, and business teams to deliver best-in-class user experiences.
You will directly manage all Product Owners, with two Product Owner Managers in each region, as well as UX Managers and UX Designers in each region, ensuring a cohesive and innovative approach to product development.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Product Strategy and Vision

  • Define and drive the overall product vision and roadmap for Kindred's sportsbook and digital betting platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market demands.
  • Work with Business Owners and the wider Sportsbook product organisation on product direction
  • Manage Stakeholder expectations and ways of working when it comes to building product
  • Develop a data-driven product strategy, leveraging customer insights, industry trends, and analytics to make informed decisions.
  • Continuously refine product offerings to improve engagement, conversion rates, and retention.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a global team of Product Owners, Product Owner Managers, UX Managers, and UX Designers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Ensure Product Owners work effectively with engineering teams to drive seamless product delivery while maintaining a strong customer focus.
  • Support professional growth, training, and development opportunities for all team members.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering, Delivery, UX, Data, and Business stakeholders to prioritize and execute product initiatives efficiently.
  • Align product development efforts with technical feasibility, business goals, and market needs.
  • Foster collaboration between UX teams and Product Owners to ensure user-centric design is embedded into all product decisions.

User Experience and Design

  • Oversee UX teams to drive a seamless, intuitive, and engaging user experience across all products.
  • Implement user research, A/B testing, and design thinking methodologies to continuously improve the customer journey.
  • Ensure that UX and Product teams work closely together to maintain consistency and high-quality design across platforms.

Product Execution and Delivery

  • Define clear product roadmaps, ensuring timely and high-quality feature releases.
  • Implement best practices in Agile product management, working closely with delivery and engineering teams to optimize workflows.
  • Monitor KPIs and product success metrics, making data-driven adjustments to optimize performance.

Market and Competitive Analysis

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings, ensuring Kindred remains at the forefront of sportsbook innovation.
  • Work with the Sportsbook Product organisation on these trends and offerings
  • Identify new market opportunities and product enhancements to expand customer engagement and revenue streams.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary product leader within the organization, providing regular updates to executives and key stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic product presentations and reports to showcase product performance, upcoming features, and key insights.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Product Delivery Success: % of product roadmap delivered on time and within scope.
  • User Engagement Metrics: Growth in active users, session time, retention rates, and NPS scores.
  • Conversion and Revenue Impact: Improvement in bet placements, user transactions, and revenue contribution.
  • UX and Design Quality: Reduction in user friction, increased satisfaction scores, and A/B test performance.
  • Team Performance: Growth and effectiveness of the product and UX teams, measured by retention and employee feedback.

 

Requirements

Experience & Leadership

  • 10+ years in product management, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role within a product-led tech organization.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling product teams in a high-growth environment.
  • Experience managing large, cross-functional product teams, including Product Owners, UX Managers, and Designers, across multiple regions.
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience in coaching, mentoring, and growing high-performing teams.

Product Strategy & Execution

  • Deep experience in product lifecycle management, from ideation to launch and continuous iteration.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum, and lean product development.
  • Ability to create and execute customer-centric product strategies that drive engagement and revenue.

User Experience & Customer Focus

  • Strong knowledge of UX/UI principles, usability testing, and user research methodologies.
  • Ability to balance business objectives with customer needs, ensuring product decisions align with user behaviour and feedback.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Experience with data analytics, A/B testing, and KPIs to guide product direction and optimize performance.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for product improvements.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of working with engineering, business, marketing, and leadership teams.
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills, with the ability to convey product vision, performance, and impact to senior leadership.
