ABOUT YOUR ROLE

The Head of Corporate Development – Europe will be a key asset in driving FDJ United's international expansion in Europe. He/she will lead our on-the-ground business development efforts, market intelligence and assessment, as well as leading stakeholder engagement with Lottery clients and partners and institutional representatives.

He/she will have a key mandate to create and develop commercial opportunities, strategic collaborations at local or European levels, while contributing to organic and M&A opportunities across the projects' lifecycles.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO  

Business Development and Opportunity Sourcing

  • Identify, assess and monitor key market opportunities in International Lotteries to build the company's footprint in new markets, through organic development or M&A
  • Develop FDJ's visibility and recognition in target markets through participation in industry conferences as well as direct engagement and pitches
  • Establish and develop strategic relationships with stakeholders incl. potential clients, partners and other decision-makers

 

Market Assessment

  • Contribute to the prioritization of strategic opportunities to ensure that FDJ's expansion efforts are targeted, profitable, scalable, and sustainable over the long term
  • In selected priorities, conduct market deep dives through on-the-ground intelligence and analysis as well as outside-in analysis to contribute to the refinement of FDJ's go-to-market

 

Strategic Partnerships & Deal Structuring 

  • Contribute to FDJ's winning of international tenders, notably through the creation, articulation and management of strategic partnerships, in collaboration with relevant teams, in both local and global markets to expand FDJ's presence and capabilities

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting 

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, in particular the Head of Go-to-Market Europe, as well as Market Operations and Product Teams, to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives.
  • Regularly report on business development progress, including partnerships, tender outcomes, and revenue growth, to senior leadership.

 

TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE, WE BELIEVE YOU HAVE…  

We seek candidates who can demonstrate: 

 

  • Proven track record and experience leading international business development, ideally in the gaming, gambling, or regulated tech sectors .
  • Track record of creating and securing strategic partnerships and commercial opportunities.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in international business development, strategy consultancy, or related positions, ideally in the gaming, gambling, or regulated tech sectors.

 

Desired Skills and Personal Traits 

  • Results-driven, with a focus on achieving business objectives and revenue growth.
  • Willingness to work internationally (approx. 30-50%)
  • High interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, navigate complex dynamics and work effectively across cultures and seniority levels
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing high-stakes partnerships and deals.
  • Solid strategic thinker, able to identify new business opportunities and navigate complex market environments.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • High-level of autonomy and drive, ability to work independently in international context
  • Ability to think globally, while being mindful of local market dynamics and regulatory requirements.
