The role

We are seeking a highly skilled individual with a strong mathematical foundation, excellent knowledge of odds, and a proven track record in driving profitability in bookmaking. The ideal candidate will have exceptional analytical skills and be able to manage P&L effectively. They should be a confident communicator, capable of liaising with stakeholders at all levels, and have the passion to improve and drive the development of our existing products.

You will lead a team of traders and trading managers across various locations and sportsbook areas (Pre-Match, In-Play, Racing, and Risk Management). Flexibility is key, as shift patterns may include weekends, evenings, and nights. The successful candidate will have an understanding of our product's competitive position in the market, be aware of local requirements, and collaborate closely with Sportsbook and Product teams to align with group strategy.

What you will do:

• Report directly to the Director of Sportsbook
• Lead and develop a team of trading and risk management heads, across multiple locations and sportsbook areas (Pre-Match, In-Play, Racing and Risk Management), that will support your KPIs in the role of Group Head of Trading
• Liaise with specific trading and risk management, to ensure appropriate provision of resource in line with business requirements
• Responsibility for the accurate and timely provision of markets and odds for our betting products. These would be both feed driven and manually created.
• Overall responsibility for liabilities and positions across the entire betting product (trading)
• Overall responsibility for the monitoring and responding to activity or information that could impact the profitability of the betting product (risk)
• Monitor appropriate competitor markets and take action as required
• Assist in the business operation process within the overall Sportsbook department as required.
• Liaise with the Data Science and Quant (DSQ) provision to help supply strategic guidance and prioritisation of that product offering.
• Work with Risk Management and DSQ to develop, execute and monitor the entire trading strategy and principles of the entire betting product
• Work with Risk Management and DSQ to analyse and develop the trading framework for different markets and event profiles
• Work with Risk Management and Sportsbook Control to calculate and communicate the risks acceptable for betting activity for selected sports and leagues
• Overall responsibility for Risk Management with the identification of a customer's / group of customers' risk profile.
• Assist the DSQ teams in their work helping to continually improve our betting KPIs
• Coordinate with the internal Sportsbook (and other) team(s) on Strategy, Marketing, Promotional and Operational issues
• Work alongside the broader Product team and other key stakeholders to ensure accurate customer management.
• There may be a requirement to work a shift pattern including evenings, weekends and bank holidays to meet the needs of the business.
