DevOps Engineer 

The Role

We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic Database Services (DBS) team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and developing automation solutions for our diverse database services.

You will collaborate with a team of highly skilled professionals in a fast-paced environment, leveraging your automation and DevOps expertise to enhance our DBS offerings. We are looking for someone who is eager to apply their DevOps knowledge to improve automation across various databases, including Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Solace, Kafka, and AWS. While experience with these specific databases is not required, it is considered as a plus. A willingness to have a close collaboration within the team as well as learning and adapting is essential.

 

Main responsibilities: 

  • Lead the automation efforts to deliver a scalable database environment 
  • Participate in the definition of the requirements on the infrastructure for the services DBS are responsible for 
  • Participate in tests and verification of new products within DBS responsibilities 
  • Collaborate to achieve common goals both within the team and across departments
  • Keep up to date with new automation and infrastructure technologies
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and mentoring
  • Ensure that you adhere to the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) obligations for your role.
  • Identify and raise any non-compliance incidents promptly to your line manager.
  • Challenge processes, policies and projects that will negatively impact compliance within the Group.
  • Complete all mandatory compliance training assigned to you.
  • Reach out to the Compliance Teams if unsure of any of your compliance obligations or the requirements are unclear.

 

Skills and Requirements  

  • Deep knowledge in building automation solution using Ansible, Python and Terraform – preferably 3+ year experience
  • Experience in building scalable and distributed infrastructure
  • It is an advantage if you have some knowledge in database administration, but not a requirement
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to contribute to architectural and tech management discussions
  • Comfortable running workshops and training sessions 
  • Good at collaboration and both verbal and written communication. 
  • Development mindset focused on cost optimization and performance
