The role

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Data Engineering pipeline design and implementation experience within a commercial environment.
  • Experience in the delivery of data solutions in complex enterprises.
  • Experience working with metadata-based ELT/ETL frameworks.
  • Experience using Python, Scala or Java code against large-scale, cloud-based data warehouses that make use of big-data frameworks like Spark, Kafka, etc
  • Prior experience working in/with DevOps teams and comfortable with DevOps/SRE thinking.
  • Previous experience in working with legacy data warehouses and reverse-engineering designs from undocumented code.
  • Write SQL queries to facilitate data extraction and manipulation.
  • Develop BI reports and dashboards to assist commercial and product managers on their day to day activities.
  • Experience working in a scrum-based agile environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in breaking down complex problems and projects into manageable goals.

 

Technical and Functional skills:

 

  • Experience with agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum.
  • Flexible, resilient, committed, passionate and able to work co-operatively.
  • Ability to cope with competing demands and remain focused with competing priorities.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to gain co-operation and commitment and work with remote teams.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office.
