We're looking for a Software Engineer (Data & Analytics) to help build and maintain the backend data services, APIs, and pipelines that power analytics applications across our sports betting platform. You'll work on real-time data products, pipelines, and APIs, supporting frontend teams and downstream consumers. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on implementation, data quality, and performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Implement and maintain REST/GraphQL APIs for analytics and risk data

· Build and support real-time and batch pipelines using Java Flink, PyFlink, and Kafka

· Contribute to aggregation, caching, and query optimisation for analytical workloads

· Monitor data quality, service reliability, and performance

· Collaborate with frontend and product teams to deliver self-service data products

Technical and Functional Skills

Programming Languages & Big Data:

· Java: Proficient with Apache Flink, Kafka, stream processing, and enterprise microservices

· Python: Comfortable with PyFlink pipelines, data processing, and API development

· SQL: Skilled at analytics queries and stream-processing queries

Stream Processing & Messaging:

· Apache Flink: Experience with Flink Java APIs, stateful processing, windowing, MapState, and exactly-once semantics

· Apache Kafka: Production experience with Java Kafka clients and high-throughput producers

Cloud, Storage & Infrastructure:

· AWS & Databases: Experience with RDS/PostgreSQL, S3, and database optimisation

· Containers & Deployment: Experience with Kubernetes/Docker for deploying and scaling services

· Observability: Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)

Agile & Project Skills:

· Experience working in a scrum-based agile environment

· Experience with agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum

· Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems and projects into manageable goals

· Ability to cope with competing demands and remain focused on priorities

· Excellent time management and organisational skills

Interpersonal & Functional Skills

· Flexible, resilient, committed, passionate, and able to work co-operatively

· Ability to maintain confidentiality

· Ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organisation

· Ability to gain co-operation and commitment and work with remote teams

· Advanced user of Microsoft Office

· Experience in gaming, financial services, or regulated industries is a plus
